What Can You Do With a Visual Framework?

Have you ever tried to explain something and watched your audience’s eyes glaze over? Then you quickly sketch it out, and suddenly you get nods of understanding?

That’s the impact of a visual framework.

Since our brain processes visuals up to 15x faster than words (and remembers them far longer), a good visual framework can make your idea click, stick, and spread.

It turns “Wait, what?” into “Oh, I get it!”

A QUESTION I'VE BEEN ASKED

What’s so great about a visual framework?

For a solopreneur, the right visual framework can do more for you than a dozen paragraphs ever could. These images can become powerful communication tools.

Here are several ways to put them to work. Where might they help you most?

  • Clarify your thinking.
Map an idea and immediately spot the gaps.
  • Teach or explain your process.
Give people the “aha” moment without a wall of text.
  • Pitch your offer visually.
Help clients see the value instantly.
  • Turn abstract IP into assets.
Make your ideas tangible and ownable.
  • Create signature content.
Anchor your talks, courses, or workshops.
  • Boost client buy-in.
Shorten the time from “I’m not sure” to “I’m in.”
  • Create sticky social posts.
    Frameworks get shared, and remembered.
  • Transform into other formats.
Lead magnets, worksheets, course visuals, and other resources.

A QUESTION TO REFLECT ON

Where could a visual replace a paragraph?

Sometimes the hardest ideas to explain are the ones we’ve said the same way for years. A fresh visual can open a new door for someone.

This week’s reflection: What’s one idea you keep explaining the same way? How might a visual framework help others understand it?

A QUESTION TO CONSIDER TOGETHER

Where do you want faster “I get it!” moments?

This is a fun part of each newsletter, where we see how your thinking aligns with other readers. Your answer is anonymous, and you’ll see the results right after you respond.

I’m curious where a framework would have the greatest impact in your work right now.

Last week’s poll results: Readers are eager to try framework variations and were almost evenly split between spirals, curved paths, and constellations as the next shapes to explore.
